Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) Phase-Out

In 2020, the Air Quality Control Commission (AQCC) adopted the Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) Phase-Out Rule under AQCC Regulation 22, Part B. This rule identifies prohibited substances or HFCs used in aerosol propellants, chillers, foam, and stationary refrigeration, and establishes a timeline for the phase-out of these HFCs in manufacturing, distribution, and use in the State of Colorado. The HFC phase-out rule prohibits the sale, lease, rent, installation, use, and manufacturing in the State of Colorado of any product or equipment using or containing a prohibited substance for the identified end-uses. The rule also includes disclosure or labeling requirements for affected end-uses under the rule.

Please see the HFC Phase-Out Rule fact sheet for more information.
