Air Quality Control Commission

The Colorado Air Quality Control Commission is appointed by the governor and authorized by the Colorado General Assembly to oversee Colorado’s air quality program according to the Colorado Air Pollution Prevention and Control Act, Section 25-7-101 et seq., C.R.S., as amended. The purpose of the commission is to adopt a cost-effective and efficient air quality management program that promotes clean and healthy air for Colorado's citizens and visitors, protect Colorado's scenic and natural resources, and promotes statewide greenhouse gas pollution abatement.

Remote Meetings

Due to COVID-19 response activities, we are not currently hosting meetings in person. The commission is conducting all meetings as remote meetings only using the Zoom platform. This became effective March 18, 2020 and will continue until further notice. Opportunity will be made available for parties to rulemaking hearings and interested members of the public to participate remotely in the meetings. Zoom registration links will be posted to this website and on meeting agendas. We will continue to update the website as the situation changes.

Accepting Written Comments Only for Requests for Rulemaking Hearings 

The commission is deviating from its previous practices regarding public comment for Requests for Rulemaking Hearings. Please see this memo for details concerning this decision.

Next Executive Committee meeting is scheduled: Thursday, May 27, 2021 to begin at 8:00 a.m. as an online meeting only. Executive Committee meetings are used to discuss the next month's agenda and logistics of the meeting. Members of the public are welcome to attend however public comments are not taken during this meeting. Please contact the commission office at cdphe.aqcc-comments@state.co.us if you would like to attend the Executive Committee meeting.

Suncor Energy Public Comment Hearings
The Colorado Air Quality Control Commission will hold a public hearing to elicit and record comments on the proposed renewal of the Title V Operating Permit for the Suncor Energy Commerce City Refinery Plant 2 (East Plant) located at 5800 Brighton Boulevard, Commerce City, Colorado.

There will be two public comment hearings held: May 1, 2021 to begin at 8:00 a.m. and May 4, 2021 to begin at 6:00 p.m. Details to register for each of the meetings and to register to provide public comment may be found within the Notice of Public Comment Hearing.

La Comisión de Control de la Calidad del Aire de Colorado celebrará una audiencia pública para obtener y registrar los comentarios sobre la propuesta de renovación del Permiso de operaciones, conforme al Título V, para la Planta 2 (Planta Este) de la refinería de Suncor Energy en Commerce City, ubicada en 5800 Brighton Boulevard, Commerce City, Colorado.
 

Habrá dos audiencias públicas: el 1 de mayo de 2021 a las 8:00 a.m. y el 4 de mayo de 2021 a las 6:00 p.m. La información para inscribirse a cada una de las reuniones y para registrarse para ofrecer comentarios públicos se puede encontrar en el Aviso de audiencia pública para comentarios.
