The Mobile Home Water Quality law is about the opportunity to help Colorado provide clean and safe water in the state’s mobile home park communities. The law requires the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to test drinking water in the parks to understand water quality issues. The law also requires CDPHE to develop and implement a statewide action plan by March 2026. The action plan will include our test findings, community outreach efforts, strategies to improve water quality, and explore funding opportunities.
In order to carry out our work over the next four years and beyond, CDPHE’s Water Quality Control Division is gathering input from stakeholders on the development of the 2026 Mobile Home Park Water Quality Action Plan.
The action plan's goals include:
- Identify opportunities to improve water quality.
- Gather community feedback.
- Provide a testing status report and identify strategies to complete testing.
- Identify funding opportunities.
The division encourages mobile home park communities to get involved as we begin the stakeholder work that will help develop the plan. We are committed to informing the public as we work through this process.
How to get involved
The 2026 Mobile Home Park Water Quality Action Plan stakeholder efforts are still under development and we will update this webpage with upcoming meeting information soon.
After the meetings and public comment periods, the division will publish the final 2026 Mobile Home Park Water Quality Action Plan and a summary of the public comments received throughout this process on our website.
