Clean water: Temperature monitoring

The data we collect from monitoring Colorado’s surface waters includes temperature information. We collect in-stream temperature data to:

  • Determine ambient stream water quality.
  • Assess physical/biological health of the stream.
  • Develop and revise water quality standards.
  • Assess trends and determine whether applicable water quality standards are being met.
