EMS and trauma services in Colorado are governed by rules enacted by the Colorado Board of Health. The rules that govern EMS and trauma in Colorado can be found below. On Dec. 20, 2023, the Colorado Board of Health approved the 6 CCR 1015-3 Chapter 4, ground ambulance licensing rules. These rules will be enacted on July 1, 2024.
