Radio communications in Colorado
Providers of emergency medical and trauma care must be able to communicate with one another to maximize their efforts. The state has a statewide digital trunked radio system that providers of emergency medical and trauma care can use for communications. Communications in the emergency medical and trauma services system include:
- Access to the system through 911 services
- Pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Dispatch of pre-hospital services
- Communications with physicians for online medical control and notification of patients being transported to facilities
