Radio communications in Colorado

Providers of emergency medical and trauma care must be able to communicate with one another to maximize their efforts. The state has a statewide digital trunked radio system that providers of emergency medical and trauma care can use for communications. Communications in the emergency medical and trauma services system include:

  • Access to the system through 911 services
  • Pre-arrival instructions to callers
  • Dispatch of pre-hospital services
  • Communications with physicians for online medical control and notification of patients being transported to facilities
