Radionuclide limits

  • Oil and gas field wastes: total radium of Ra-226 and Ra-228 shall not exceed 12,200 pCi/g in pipe scale or 6,000 pCi/g in other waste forms. Pb-210 shall not exceed 10,000 pCi/g. Total oil and gas field wastes received for disposal shall not exceed 50,000 tons per year.

  • Other wastes: total activity of all radionuclides shall not exceed 2000 pCi/g. Ra-226 shall not exceed 222 pCi/g. Pb-210 shall not exceed 666 pCi/g.

  • Combined Radium 226+228 less than or equal to 50 pCi/g, natural Uranium less than or equal to 10 pCi/g, natural Thorium less than or equal to 10 pCi/g, Lead-210 less than or equal to 10 pCi/g, and Po-210 less than or equal to 10 pCi/g.

  • Radionuclide limits - Combined Radium 226+228 less than or equal to 50 pCi/g, natural Uranium less than or equal to 245 pCi/g, natural Thorium less than or equal to 50 pCi/g, Lead-210 less than or equal to 3 pCi/g, and Polonium-210 less than or equal to 3 pCi/g.
