Colorado HIV Alliance for Prevention, Care and Treatment (Alliance)

Promoting statewide collaboration and information sharing among HIV service providers, public health agencies, community members, those affected by HIV and medical, behavioral and social scientists.

Colorado HIV and AIDS Prevention Grant Program (CHAPP)

The Colorado HIV and AIDS Prevention Grant Program Advisory Committee addresses local community needs in the areas of medically accurate HIV and AIDS prevention and education through a competitive grant process.

State Drug Assistance Program (SDAP)

The SDAP Advisory Committee is an important volunteer body, which focuses on the needs, service gaps and priorities  of persons living with HIV and persons at risk of acquiring HIV in Colorado and makes recommendations that helps people pay for costly HIV and HIV prevention medications.

The Viral Hepatitis Elimination Coalition (VHEC) is working together to create, and implement a plan to eliminate hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C in Colorado

State Drug Assistance Program (SDAP)

SDAP Committee meetings are convened monthly by CDPHE on the 3rd Monday of the month.

What is SDAP?

The State Drug Assistance (SDAP, formerly known as ADAP) Committee comes together to provide advice and recommendations to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Reviewing the State Drug Assistance Program policies, regulations, functions, quality management issues, and budgets.
  • Making recommendations on formulary management, utilization management, and program eligibility.
  • Setting priorities for the uses of funding under the purview of the Committee and allocating funding across these uses

The SDAP Committee is composed of up to 25 voting members that are:

  • Non-affiliated community members who have accessed SDAP services
  • Members of communities disproportionately affected by HIV/STIs/viral hepatitis
  • Youth (17+) and youth advocates
  • Justice-involved individuals and advocates
  • Providers (medical and non-medical)
  • Contractors
  • And those interested in advancing health equity and outcomes for people living with HIV (PLHIV) or vulnerable to the acquisition of HIV.


The SDAP committee is committed to equality, inclusion and representation. Members will be selected in order to make the SDAP Committee inclusive of all people who are interested in and committed to HIV prevention, care and treatment, and representative of the diversity of the community in which it serves.

Viral Hepatitis Elimination Coalition (VHEC)

VHEC meetings are currently convened bi-monthly by CDPHE.

What is VHEC?

The Viral Hepatitis Elimination Coalition (VHEC) is a coalition of individuals from the community and Colorado agencies who’s purpose is to develop a strategy and implementation plan to eliminate hepatitis A, hepatitis B and hepatitis C in Colorado. 

VHEC’s vision is that in Colorado, new cases of viral hepatitis will be prevented and the health needs of people living with viral hepatitis will be fulfilled.

In pursuit of this vision, the Colorado Viral Hepatitis Elimination Coalition focuses on five priority areas:

  • Fostering Equity
  • Expansion, Accessibility and Integration of Services
  • Advocacy for Resources and Policy Change
  • Increasing Awareness
  • Improving Data Collection and Information Sharing

VHEC is composed of members  of communities disproportionately affected by HIV/STIs/viral hepatitis including:

  • Non-affiliated community members who have lived experience with viral hepatitis
  • Justice-involved individuals and advocates
  • People who use drugs
  • People experiencing homelessness
  • Providers (medical and non-medical)
  • And those interested in advancing health equity and outcomes for people living with viral hepatitis (PLHV) or at risk for acquisition of viral hepatitis.

VHEC is committed to equality, inclusion and representation and is inclusive of all people who are interested in and committed to viral hepatitis prevention, care and treatment, and representative of the diversity of the community in which it serves.
