The Colorado Maternal Mortality Review Committee (MMRC) is currently accepting applications for membership.
Applications will be accepted from December 18, 2024, to January 19, 2025.
The committee is currently looking for people with lived and professional experience to join the MMRC.
Lived experience
Those with lived experience related to:
- Perinatal substance use or alcohol use disorder
- Perinatal mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, or suicidal ideation while pregnant or postpartum)
- Homelessness or being unhoused
- Perinatal experiences & care in rural areas of Colorado
Professional experience
Those with professional experience in:
- Addiction medicine
- Emergency medicine
- Organizations serving Indigenous, American Indian, or Alaska Native populations
- Interpersonal Violence (IPV)
- Forensic Pathology
- Criminal justice, criminal justice reform, or carceral systems
Individuals who represent diverse communities with regard to race, ethnicity, immigration status, English proficiency, income, wealth, and geographic region of the state, as well as those who are affected by higher rates of maternal mortality or by a lack of access to maternity care health services, are encouraged to apply.
Those interested in serving on the MMRC must complete an online application. Interviews for selected applicants will take place at the end of January 2025. New members will be onboarded in February 2025 and participate in their first MMRC meeting on March 19, 2025.
