Economic Mobility Program Grant Funding Opportunity - RFA #40812 - Tax Credit Community Outreach

ANNOUNCING THE RFA AWARD RECIPIENTS

Thank you to all of the applicants for submitting their applications for the Tax Credit Community Outreach RFA. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment received twenty eligible applications. The applications were scored by the RFA Application Review Committee who recommended eight organizations to receive the available funding.

Congratulations to these eight funded organizations!

  • Community Resource Center
  • ECDC African Community Center
  • Hunger Free Colorado
  • Servicios de la Raza
  • Metro Caring
  • Parent Possible
  • Muslim Youth for Positive Impact
  • Americas for Conservation and the Arts with CREA Results

These organizations will use the funds to conduct outreach to increase tax credits claimed by low- and middle-income families who are eligible but may not know about the credits. CDPHE looks forward to seeing the positive impact these organization’s projects have on supporting the economic mobility and health of families and individuals throughout Colorado communities.

Overview

This funding opportunity will fund nonprofit and community-based organizations to increase tax credit claims for low- and middle-income families, such as the Child Tax Credit (CTC), Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC), and state tax credits, with a focus on reaching immigrant, refugee, and newcomer communities, and people who have been systemically disadvantaged.

Applicants who are best suited to implement this work are those with existing relationships serving community members in Colorado, those with experience collaborating with community-based organizations and nonprofits within their Colorado communities, and those with capacity to conduct community-level outreach and referrals to increase tax filing and tax credit claims working with Colorado communities.
