Water Quality Control Commission
The Water Quality Control Commission is the administrative agency responsible for developing specific water quality policy in Colorado, in a manner that implements the broader policies set forth by the Legislature in the Colorado Water Quality Control Act. The Commission adopts water quality classifications and standards for waters of the state, as well as various regulations aimed at achieving compliance with those classifications and standards. The Colorado Water Quality Control Commission meets the second Monday (and Tuesday, if necessary) of each month.

The next monthly Commission meeting is scheduled for December 8-10, 2025 as a hybrid meeting. Please note the in-person portion of this meeting will take place on CDPHE's Main Campus in Building B, Crayton and Rodriguez rooms.

- Public Comment information:
- The Public Comment Session on December 8 will begin at 10:00 a.m. Commenters should sign-up by December 4 at noon. Signing up after this time might result in being waitlisted due to time-capacity.
- The public comment session is a chance to speak on any water quality issue or the proposed Regulation #87. It may end early if all registered speakers have commented.
- Who should not sign up to provide public comment on the proposed Regulation #87:
1. Witnesses listed by a party in the Regulation #87 rulemaking hearing; and
2. Legal representatives of a party in the Regulation #87 rulemaking hearing. - Written comments on any water quality issue are also welcome and can be sent to: cdphe.wqcc@state.co.us by November 26, 2025.
