The CPEI unit houses evaluation services internally within CDPHE to ensure that evaluation functions are integrated into grant planning and decision-making processes. The primary purpose of CPEI evaluation efforts is to understand the individual and collective impact of substance use prevention strategies within and across grantees. The evaluation team strives to implement collaborative and standardized evaluation practices that cohesively consider process, outcome, and impact metrics; measure important use, behaviors, attitudes, and norms regarding substance use; provide individualized data results for grantees to learn from and take action with; and, share the positive impact of prevention efforts in Colorado.
