Request for applications
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is soliciting responses for the development and expansion of waste tire markets in Colorado. The development of sustainable waste tire markets in Colorado will assist in the reduction of the storage and illegal dumping of waste tires.
We, under the Waste Tire Administration, Enforcement, Market Development, and Cleanup Fund (30-20-1404, C.R.S.), are offering grant funds to assist in the development and expansion of waste tire markets in Colorado. Projects should be innovative, demonstrating new approaches to the use of existing tire-derived products or materials, or developing new products using processed waste tires. These projects should have the potential of expanding tire-derived product markets in Colorado and regionally.
This grant program is open to for-profit companies, nonprofit organizations, state or local governments, and Institutions of Higher Education that are located in and/or have operations in Colorado.
Grant funding will be available for the following initiatives:
- To assist in the testing and/or research and development of new and existing waste tire recycling technologies, applications and products.
- To assist in the incorporation of tire-derived materials, including crumb rubber, tire-derived aggregate, and tire-derived fuel into one or more tire-derived products, or applications.
- To have testing conducted by an independent lab, (laboratory or testing facility associated with) institutions of higher education, or other accredited facility on newly developed tire-derived products.
