Health Equity Commission Recruitment Subcommittee

Purpose: To revise and implement the recruitment process for Community Commissioners that must be approved by the entire Health Equity Commission. This process is required to:

1. Meet the statutory requirements,
2. Make efforts to enhance the quality and diversity of applicants and community commissioners
3. Update processes and tools to support the Health Equity Commission recruitment and retention 
4. Provide updates and other information to the Health Equity Commission, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and the Office of Health Equity on all subcommittee activities. The Health Equity Commission Recruitment Subcommittee Authority was approved on the 18th of August 2023 during the monthly Health Equity Commission meeting. 

The Health Equity Commission Recruitment Subcommittee members self-selected via survey and the results were announced in the August Health Equity Commission meeting. The following members have been identified and this charter will be updated when there are changes in membership:

• Commissioner Stanton (Co-Chair)
• Commissioner Nucete
• Commissioner Soto
• Commissioner Maestas (joined 11/7 and represents the Data Advisory Work Group)
• Arlen Zamula - CDPHE
• Phuonglan Nguyen - CDPHE
• Rachel Bryan-Auker - CDPHE
• Suzuho Shimasaki - CDPHE

Due to a lack of quorum, April's HEC recruitment sub-committee meeting was canceled (HEC Bylaws Section VII)*
