REMOTE (March 1, 2022): The Air Toxics Act (HB21-1189), signed into law by Governor Polis in 2021, requires Suncor Energy to submit a plan for fenceline monitoring at its refinery in Commerce City. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will hold two public meetings to discuss that plan.
CDPHE will hold the meetings remotely on March 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on March 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDPHE will provide Spanish interpretation at both meetings.
REMOTE, February 24, 2022: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Colorado is now making funds available to help entities determine if their water contains chemicals found in toxic firefighting foam and other sources. If the chemicals are found above current health advisory levels set by the Environmental Protection Agency, grant funding can also be used to help reduce the contamination.
