Schriever Space Force Base occupies approximately 3,840 acres and is located 13 miles east of Colorado Springs in El Paso County. Critical mission resources are located within the restricted area, which consists of the majority of the developed land on the installation.
The base operates a worldwide network of dedicated missile warning sensors and space surveillance sensors. Land use consists of a combination of administrative, industrial, special space mission and recreational operations. The base indirectly contributes an estimated $1.3 billion to the local Colorado Springs, Colorado area annually.
