Children with autism include birth through age five with a medical diagnosis of autism who are at risk of institutionalization in either a facility for the developmentally disabled or a hospital. Services provided are case management, rehabilitative, and behavioral therapies in the child's home or in a community setting. The licensed staff who are routinely on-site will vary depending on the facility. Therapist on-site must have at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field and 2,000 hours of training in behavioral therapies.
