Brownfields Cleanup Grant Program

We are offering grant funds to assist in the remediation of abandoned properties that contain environmental hazards, consistent with the mission of CDPHE and to encourage the redevelopment of abandoned hazardous facilities for the benefit of the public good.

Eligible applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Not-for-profit entity.
  • Non-Federal Governmental entity (city, town, municipality, or county).
  • Watershed or other community organization.
  • Project must demonstrate a clear public benefit and/or economic impact.

Eligible project sites must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • The project site does not have a responsible party to perform the remediation.
  • The project site has been determined to present a threat to human health or the environment.
  • The remediation of the project site will allow the redevelopment of the property for the public good.
