An Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disability (ICF-IID) is a residential facility that is certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) to provide habilitative, therapeutic and specialized support services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
It is an optional Medicaid benefit that enables states to provide comprehensive and individualized health care and rehabilitation services to individuals to promote their functional status and independence.
Services and day program
Residential and day support services include active treatment (structured behavioral and intensive physical health management to establish optimal functioning) and supportive services (help with activities of daily living, such as grooming, laundry, meals, and assistance with medications).
