Mobile food unit reciprocity

Mobile food establishments (e.g. food trucks) that have a valid and current Retail Food License for the City and County of Denver are now allowed to operate statewide. With a valid Denver Retail Food License a unit is permitted to operate in another county outside of Denver without any additional retail food licensing required. The mobile unit owner must provide a copy of their current Denver Retail Food License to the county(ies) in which they intend to operate at least 14 days prior to operating outside of Denver.

If you are a Denver Licensed Mobile Food Unit and wish to operate outside of the City and County of Denver, complete the Denver licensed mobile food unit reciprocity form to report your intentions.

For Mobile Food Units licensed to operate outside of the City and County of Denver that want to operate in Denver, go to the Denver Food Business and Events webpage to obtain information on the process to submit your valid State of Colorado retail food permit to Denver.

Please note; Mobile units must be in compliance with all local ordinances, resolutions, regulations, zoning, or applicable codes for the county in which you intend to operate. All mobile units are subject to inspection and enforcement by the local jurisdiction to confirm compliance.
