1. Create a CCWP Portal account.
- This will give you an Operator ID number.
- The Operator ID number uniquely identifies you in the CCWP Portal, but it does NOT make you a certified operator yet.
- You will use the Operator ID number when you register for training so training units (TUs) can be uploaded by the instructor into your CCWP Portal account. (You will need to claim the TUs in order to meet eligibility criteria.)
- There is a video tutorial called "Creating a new operator account" to help you get going.
2a. Meet the eligibility requirements to sit for an exam.
2b. Enter relevant data concerning eligibility requirements in your CCWP Portal account. There are video tutorials to help you with each portal screen.
- Minimum education - General Ed button.
- Requires document upload verifying that requirement has been met. Acceptable documents include high school diploma or equivalency certificate, college transcripts or college diploma, military discharge papers, or a letter explaining why you don't have documentation.
- Minimum experience - Work Experience button or, if using approved training substitution, Training Units & Credits navigation in the blue bar at the top of the page.
- Mandatory regulatory training (MRT) - Training Units & Credits navigation in the blue bar at the top of the page.
3. Initiate application in the CCWP Portal for approval to sit for the exam.
- "Apply for Certification" navigation (top blue bar).
- You must specify which exam you wish to sit for.
- Must have green check marks for EVERY eligibility criteria.
- Must agree to terms and conditions for using the CCWP Portal and the Colorado Certified Water Professionals Code of Conduct by checking the appropriate box (left hand side of the page).
- Click on the "Initiate Application" button toward the bottom of the page.
4. Pay the $50.00 application fee on the secure payment page that comes up when you click on the "Initiate Application" button in the CCWP Portal.
- You will receive an email that your application has been submitted and that it will be reviewed within 10 business days.
- You will receive an email with a receipt for your payment.
5. Create or login to your PSI account online and schedule your exam with PSI.
- You will receive an email notification when your application is approved.
- You will also receive email instructions to create or login to your PSI account online to schedule your exam with PSI. Follow the directions.
- This part is NOT done in the CCWP Portal.
- You have the option to take your exam at a PSI testing center.
- You have the option to take a remotely proctored exam, IF YOUR EQUIPMENT, ENVIRONMENT, INTERNET CONNECTION, and BROWSER meet the requirements.

- PC users - Windows 7, 8 and 10 are compatible; Firefox and Chrome are supported, but not Edge or Internet Explorer
- Mac users - versions 10.12, 10.13 and 10.14 operating systems are needed; Safari, Firefox or Chrome can be used
- webcam, microphone and speakers
- Flash player (for PC users)
- ability to download and install PSI's Secure Web Browser
- stable broadband internet connection - minimum 500 Kbps download and 256 Kbps upload (500Mbps or higher recommended)
- a wired connection is preferred over wireless
- browser must accept third-party cookies for the duration of the exam
- Chromebooks, tablets and cellphones are not compatible and CANNOT BE USED
- Touchscreens CANNOT BE USED
- Dual screens CANNOT BE USED
- laptop or desktop computer (Windows or Mac only)
- Compatibility check: You must confirm that the testing computer is compatible for remote proctoring. Use Google Chrome Browser to complete an audio/video check, webcam check and system check at https://home.psiexams.com/static/#/bcheck.
- If the computer is compatible, you can proceed to schedule a remotely proctored exam.
- If you have questions or issues with your system, you can contact the remote proctoring technical support team at 844-267-1017.
- Room set up
- Except for your testing computer, NO electronic devices or recording devices are permitted. (no cell phones, landline phones, pagers, cameras, headphones or earbuds)
- You will be asked to scan the room prior to launching your exam. You will be asked to removed any items that are not allowed.
- Only the candidate is allowed in the room immediately before, during and immediately after the exam.

6. Pay $100.00 exam fee to PSI at the time you schedule your exam.
7. Prepare to PASS the exam.
