People who are patients of Ambulatory Surgical Centers are people in need of outpatient surgery who don't need hospitalization. The expectations of the services provided at Ambulatory Surgical Centers include: surgeries are not expected to require more than a total of 24 hours for preparation, including the surgery itself and recovery, surgical procedures should generally not result in extensive blood loss, be life-threatening, or involve major or prolonged invasion of body cavities, and general anesthesia and local anesthesia may be used.
Nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons are the licensed staff who are routinely onsite.
