State health department denounces Title X rule

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has denounced the new U.S. Department of Health and Human Services rule that makes substantive changes to the Title X Family Planning Program and jeopardizes access to critical reproductive health care services, including cancer screenings, for thousands of Coloradans.

Work-related deaths in Colorado down slightly; construction fatalities increase

Work-related deaths in Colorado decreased slightly between 2016 and 2017, according to data released by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. In 2017, there were a total of 77 fatal work injuries recorded, a 5 percent decrease from the 81 reported in 2016. The fatal injury rate also decreased to 2.8 per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers from 3.0 in 2016.
