About workplace safety

We monitor work-related injuries and illnesses in Colorado. Data are analyzed and synthesized into reports on occupational hazards and exposures, and their impacts on health. Draft guidance to support the operations of occupational health practitioners in their day-to-day practice. Researchers, policy makers, public health practitioners, employers and others can use the information to improve the health and safety of Colorado's workforce.

The program consults, educates, collects, and disseminates information on a variety of topics, such as:

  • Survey of Occupational Injury and Illnesses (starting federal fiscal year 2023)
  • Workplace outbreak mitigation strategies
  • Industry and occupation data for COVID-19 cases
  • Reducing occupational health inequities in vulnerable populations such as agricultural workers
  • Occupational health indicators
  • Hearing conservation
  • Heat injury and illness prevention
  • Ergonomics
  • Indoor air quality improvements for those who work and live in underserved communities
