Child Fatality Prevention System (CFPS) State Review Team

This board reviews individual case findings of the at least 43 local and regional child fatality prevention review teams across Colorado and creates a report based on those findings to make specific recommendations regarding systemic trends across the state to prevent future child deaths. 

Established by the Child Fatality Prevention Act of 2013 (C.R.S 25-20.5-401), the Child Fatality Prevention System (CFPS) State Review Team is charged with reviewing individual case findings of the 43 local and regional child fatality prevention review teams across Colorado and creating a report based on those findings to make specific recommendations regarding systemic trends across the state to prevent future child deaths.

Board Meetings:

  • All meetings may be attended virtually via Zoom or in person. 

  • Agendas will be shared at least a week in advance of meetings.

  • Unless indicated, all meetings are open to the public.

  • State Review Team 2021 Case Review #1: August 10, 2021 from 8:30-11:30am*

  • CFPS Annual Equity Training: September 23, 2021 from 2-4pm

  • State Review Team 2021 Case Review #2: November 2, 2021 from 8:30-11:30am* 

  • 4th Quarterly Meeting: Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. 

  • The 2022 meeting schedule will be set and shared with system partners in December 2021.

*Case review meetings go into executive session in accordance with Colorado Revised Statute 24-6-402, Open Meetings Law.
