Requesting COVID-19 testing supplies

Diagnostic COVID-19 Testing

There are two types of diagnostic tests that our lab utilizes to detect an active COVID-19 infection:

  1. Molecular PCR testing.

  2. Rapid antigen testing.

Molecular COVID-19 testing

The Lab processes molecular COVID-19 tests by using a lab method called polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to detect a COVID-19 infection from a specimen collected using a nasal swab.

You can request molecular COVID-19 testing supplies and personal protection equipment, such as gloves, masks, and gowns, by completing the COVID Testing Resource Request form below.

Rapid COVID-19 antigen testing

Rapid COVID-19 antigen tests detect COVID-19 infections by placing a nasal specimen collection directly to a testing device. The results are available between 15 to 30 minutes. These tests are also known as point-of-care tests.

You can order rapid COVID-19 antigen tests by completing the Point of Care (POC) Testing Supply Order form below.

Due to the number of shipping partners and the volume of supplies being shipped from our lab on a daily basis, we are unable to send confirmation emails for every order.

You may receive supplies from different manufacturers, but rest assured that all supplies sent from CDPHE can be processed at the CDPHE Lab.

Before sending extra supplies back to the CDPHE Lab, we would be happy to reach out to your local public health agency to see if they have a need or can help distribute those test kits to help serve your community. If this is something that you would like us to facilitate, email for PCR testing supply inquiries, or for POC testing supply inquiries.
