The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is in the process of reviewing and improving its minor source modeling and permitting program.
The process will be multifaceted and provide ample ways for scientific experts and the public to participate. The goal is for the process to be inclusive, science-based, and transparent, elevating innovation and creative problem solving.
As part of the process, we will convene a group of scientific experts in air quality modeling and air quality monitoring. The scientific meetings will start this month.
After getting feedback and input from technical experts, the department will take its revised process and guidelines to the public for review and comment.
The proposal will be publicly available before it’s adopted, and the division will collect comments for an extended period of time. In addition, because of the complexity of the topic, the division will hold stakeholder meetings to discuss the proposal. All Coloradans are invited to attend these meetings. We will update this page with more information on timelines and how to submit comments.
